Chelsea Wedding Photography

As part of my preparations for photographing a wedding, I always sit down with the Bride and Groom to discuss how they envisage their day developing in terms of their wedding photographs.  Most weddings follow a similar pattern to the one represented by this real wedding in Chelsea.   The title, Chelsea Wedding Photography, is a bit misleading as this represents just one of the many venues across the  UK and Europe that I travel to each year to record my Bride and Groom’s special day.  This particular wedding,  Holly and Luke’s, was in two parts; the ceremony and garden reception at St Luke’s Church, Chelsea and the evening reception, held the following day, in Majorca (Lucky me, I was flown out as their photographer!).  Here a few of the photographs of the wedding ceremony and garden reception in Chelsea.

Wedding Photography – Getting Ready

Getting ready is an integral part of telling the story of your wedding and I spend some time capturing this part of the day.  It generally provides images for 1-2 pages in the final album but the digital images I present on the personalised USB form a great reminder of the way the day began and the close friendship between the Bride and her bridesmaids.

Wedding Photography at the Church

For most weddings I have a second photographer recording the arrival of guests.  On this occasion, I didn’t but managed to capture the Groom prior to his Bride arriving – meeting with guests and nervously waiting for the ceremony to commence.

Photographing the Ceremony

One the key parts to any wedding is the ceremony.  Photographing in St Luke’s Church, Chelsea offered a magnificent backdrop.

Photographing the Reception and Groups

This part of any wedding photography day is all about organisation and the fine line between getting all the requested group shots done whilst ensuring the couple and their guests enjoy themselves and don’t feel that the day was all about the photographs!

Wedding Photography – The Bride and Groom

I always like to take my couples away from their guests for 30 minutes or so.  Just the two of them, which is the first time during the day that they will have been alone as a married couple -apart from their photographer!  What’s important here is allowing them some quiet time together for contemplation, and just letting them be themselves.  The liberal use of the long lens allows me to remain out of earshot, capture some lovely photographs yet give the my couples some time together.

Wedding photography in Chelsea is just one of the many wedding areas I serve.  In fact I’ll go anywhere to photograph a great wedding!  So don’t be put off by my home location.  I love travelling anywhere.
